As retirement is looming on the horizon and my children need to move back to Bali for high school, we have regretfully decided to sell our house and land in Sumbawa. The house will be vacated in June of 2008. We are, however, offering it for sale or rent now with a move-in date of July, 2008.

The house is approximately 430 square meters in size. It consists of five bedrooms, two bathrooms, two living rooms, a very large kitchen, a small Indonesian style kitchen, and a separate tool shed in the backyard. The total area of the property that the house sits on is 61 are (6,000 square meters). A two meter high wall surrounds about half of the property. The remaining part of the property is a hill behind the house (see photo below) which is surrounded by a chainlink fence. We have mango, papaya, and banana trees on the property. The soil is excellent for growing fruits, vegetables, and a variety of plants. The house has 10,000 watts of electricity which is more than enough to run the house. We installed the extra electricity because we planned on building a pool in the backyard, but we never got around to doing that.

There are an additional 30 are across the road with a small two-room house with a kitchen and bathroom which is suitable for a gardener to live in. The 30 are border the Sekongkang River and has a number of fruit trees.

In addition to the 91 are mentioned above, we have a hectare of land which is currently wooded. The land is located along the road running from the Newmont mining facility to the ocean. It is approximately 600 meters from the beach.

We are asking 100,000,000 rupiah for the 30 are with the cottage, and we are asking 100,000,000 for the 1 hectare of land along the Newmont road.
